Inter-Office Networks And Working From Home
- These can be setup relatively inexpensively with the use of
secure encryptyed communications over the internet; All that is
required is a reliable broadband connection at each office.
- Working from home is now almost the same as being in the office
in terms of using a PC and shared office facilities. Once again,
all that is required is a reliable broadband connection at each
office.
- If you have an established database type product in your main
office we can provide software that will connect to it from a
remote office. This can be most advantageous when the original
supplier does not support such methods or the at a prohibitive
cost.
E-mail systems
- Office mail using local email server; typical cost of software
around £75 for 5 users, £150 for 25 users. Recommended
supply: VPop3
by Paul Smith Computer Services.
- Microsoft Exchange Server is ideally suted to the larger corporations
being relatively costly and complicated. It may be cost efficient
if it is used in conjunction with a central database and it's
additional features are required.
Remote Access
- Used by personnel when working away from the office
- Used by engineers to support the system
- Can be via modem, ISDN adapter, or VPN over the internet.
- Using in-built features of the operating system and/or firewall
remote access can be made secure
